  2. A remark about position announcements

As all members know, we are committed to advertise open positions. The News Bulletin serves this purpose well, however, it is only published on a quarterly basis. Unfortunately, it has recently become quite common that announcements arrive at short notice, meaning the deadline has expired by the time of the next issue. In such cases we post the announcements only on the corresponding page of our website; those who seek a position are advised to check this URL on a regular basis.
  3. European Mathematical Society Prizes - Call for nominations

Following the tradition ten prizes will be given to young European mathematicians at the European Congress of Mathematics in Amsterdam in July 2008. The definition of "young" and "European" can be found here. The deadline for nominations is November 1, 2007.
  4. IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Mathematical Physics - Call for nominations

This prize is awarded triennially to at most three young scientists satisfying the following criteria: The awards will be given for the first time at the ICMP in Prague. More information can be found on the page of the IUPAP Commision for Mathematical Physics (C18). The deadline for nominations is August 3, 2008.
